On October 2nd, 2023, Standing Up Pretty was born—shortly after I stood up (literally) and walked away from a toxic work environment. Shortly after, I launched my paddleboard on the lake and that moment sparked something bigger: a dream to create a rental experience that stood out as well. One where you could personalize your adventure—choosing a paddleboard that vibes with your style and personality—paired with the kind of thoughtful, friendly service I always wished existed when renting gear.

 

Standing Up Pretty's mission is to instill confidence on the water so that the empowerment you build on the lake stays with you long after you step back on land.

 

My paddleboarding obsession started back in my teens on Bonita Beach, Florida, when I rented my very first board. Since then, I've paddled my heart out across Florida, the Caribbean, and Mexico where I also completed professional paddleboard training. I didn’t buy my first board until I moved to Cicero, just steps away from Morse Reservoir—never imagining I’d be turning my passion into a business.

 

Today, I’m beyond grateful to share the love of paddleboarding with my husband, kids, our pup, and now my growing crew of Stand Up People—that’s you!
